Butterfly Garden Design Program
What do I plant in my butterfly garden? How do I design my butterfly garden? Where should my butterfly plants be placed?
These and many more questions are asked when someone first becomes interested in a butterfly garden.
Shady Oak Butterfly Farm will design your garden for you!
To design your garden, we will require:
Measurements of the garden area
Photos of the garden area from several angles
Soil description (wet, dry, sandy, clay, rocky, etc)
Shade / Sun / Mixed
Nearby buildings, sidewalks, fences, and other structures
Budget - short and long term
Your city, county, and state (to design your garden to attract butterflies that live naturally in your area of your state)
Allergies (plants as well as bees or wasps)
Plants already in the garden (list as well as drawn into a sketch)
Fee depends upon the size of the garden and what you wish the design package to include.
You will receive:
A layout of your future butterfly garden
A 'shopping' list of butterfly host and nectar plants with alternative choices
A powerpoint pdf butterfly gardening presentation that includes all host plants in your garden plans with photographs of butterflies that will lay eggs in your garden; egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and adult butterfly (male and female)

"Hi, I just want to say a big thank you for helping us to realize our butterfly garden project this academic session. Dr. Brown and Ms. Andrea gave me a comprehensive report about Edith’s visit; I was told it was an awesome presentation." Vanguard School
