Yellow Chalcid Wasp - Lepidoptera Parasitoid |
|
Yellow Chalcid wasps parasitize moth and butterfly chrysalids / pupae. These are large chalcid wasps that lay eggs in soft pupae. They are the size of a small house fly. The wasp larvae develop inside the pupa, emerging as adult wasps. We found more of these chalcid wasps in Cloudless Sulphur butterfly pupae. |
